An overall GPA of 3.00 is required for admission to the Teacher Education program. » Credit Hour Requirements: A total of 120 credit hours is required for graduation - a minimum of 36 of these is required within the major. A total of 40 upper division credit hours is required (courses numbered 3000 and above) - 18-24 of these are required within the major. Geography » Program Prerequisite: Enroll in the General Honors Program and complete 6 hours of General Honors courses (see the Honors Program). » Grade Requirements: Maintain an overall GPA of 3.3. » Credit Hour Requirements: Fulfill requirements for Geography departmental or Teaching major, of which at least 12 credit hours of Geography courses must be completed on an Honors basis. A student may receive Geography Honors credit in any upper division Geography course. Permission from the program chair should be sought before registering in a course for Honors credit. A written agreement should be reached with the appropriate professor regarding the work expected for Honors credit. (See the Honors Program.) ASIAN STUDIES The Geography area participates in the Asian Studies Minor Program. Urban and Regional Planning This program provides a special emphasis in Urban and Regional Planning for majors in Botany, Economics, Engineering, Geography, Geology, Microbiology, Politics, Sociology, Zoology, and related fields.
