Sunday, February 27. We left sandersen this A.M. at 840. Had a good nights rest. The road has been much the same all day, not quite so good. We traveled 294 miles. It is much warmer and Spring seems nearer as there are quite a lot of beautiful wild flowers in blooms and trees are leafed out much more. The Spanish dagger a beautiful cactiss plant is in bloom hundreds of them. We passed the old Saloon and Hall of Justic the first held by Judge Bean West of Pecos Texas River. We saw a celebration or parade at Egal pass a good meal here. We arrived at Laredo got our car serviced & cleaned arranged for papers & Mexican money etc. Took nice rooms at Hamilton Hotel. Walked about town & retired early. 5000 people here in city. Monday, February 28. Laredo Texas. Stayed at Hotel Hamilton a very good place. It is quite warm here temp from 60 to 80 degrees. We ate our lunch here in Monterrey Mexico. Left about 9 A.M. from Loredo & arrived here at 1 P.M. Hired a guide and he showed us the important places of interest. He drove the car and took us for a 7 mi drive to an elevation of 5000 ft. A night Club called Indian Hide Out. Our meals not so good today. Have driven mi. Did window shopping also went into some good curio shops. Dr bought a grey hand woven Indian blanket for 13.50 American money. Every one has been kind & Have driven 173 mi today.
