Show Friday, August 12. Very warm. Mr Van Der Veene has helped me all day. we made 4 Gal of root beer & bottled it. Finished cleaning and our home looks lovly. Taylor Peery Marys husband went home this evening. Mrs Jane Peery and her mother called this afternoon. Dr and I went for a short ride. Saturday, August 13. Warm. I have been extra buisy today, baked bread, nut loaf, apple cake and have the house all in order. Was just going to sit down and read when Robert came to the door and ask if Dr Rich lived here? His grandfather recognized him and then followed the Russell family, Oscar, Oertel Janath Carol & Robert. Such a happy meeting the first of all of us in four years. I did not expect them for day or so more but as I was all ready for them two days more would have seemed long. Oscar and Oertel are quite heavy the girls are very slim & Janath looks quite frail but all seem fine & Robert is a real fine boy. |
