I registered and attended the meetings of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Utah Medical Association who are at this time are in convention here in Ogden for the next three days. Ate lunch with Aux. members honoring the National Board Members present. Myrene & Cleone & husbands entertained another group of friends sixty five in honor of Oertel & Oscar. Rarely seen at any state convention of doctors was the presence of the heads of the American Medical association, the American College of Physicians and the American College of Surgeons. These three, respectively, Dr. Irvin Abell, Dr. William J. Kerr and Dr. Howard C. Naffziger, lent distinction to an already distinguished gathering of specialists and general practitioners from throughout the state and country. Lauds Family Doctor In a parting message, Dr. Abell of Louisville, Ky., national president of the parent association, warmly extolled the time honored place of the (Continued on Page Four) (Column Three) Friday, September 2. Attended convention this morning. Oertel & daughters Cleone & daughters, Myrene and I were guests at Mrs G.L. Beckers in her lovly canon home this afternoon. This evening Dr & I attended a Banquet at Hotel Ben Loman. Dr Irvin Abel National Pres. was the speaker. His subject was State Medicine. A splendid talk. Oertel & Oscar out to dinner also. In addition to Drs. Rosenau and Abell, speakers at the convention sessions will include such notables as Dr. Howard Naffziger, professor of surgery at the University of California; Dr. Harry H. Bowing, head of the section of radium therapy at Mayo clinic, Rochester, Minn.; Dr. Arnold S. Jackson, member American Board of Surgery; Dr. Owen Wangenstein, professor of surgery at University of Minnesota; Dr. Roger Anderson, Seattle orthopodist; Dr. A. G. Foord, member of the board of pathology of the American Medical association; Dr. N. G. Alcock, leading urologist; Dr. Edmund Bulter, associate clinical professor of surgery at Stanford university; Dr. William J. Kerr, president of the American College of Physicians, and Dr. |
