Hotel Majestic. Mexico D.F. March 12th 1938. We are all well. Every moment in Mexico has been a pleasure except for the sad news of the possible fate of Veda. We have been on the go every moment, but get good rest at night and we are standing the trip just fine. Today we visited the National Pawn Shop and purchased several articles which were sold at auction. A very interesting place and every imaginable thing offered for sale at auction. Also visited the Great Cathedral, Presidents Palace, the University, The Thieves Market, The National Medical School which occupies the old Inquisition building, The Hospital of Jesus the oldest hospital on the Continent also the God Night Tree where Cortez sat down and wept on his retreat from Mexico previous to his final conquest. This is justo today so you can see how weae working. We seem to see everything so old, streets, most of them narrow and many one way; but some beautiful wide boulevards lined with beautiful trees. The Cahpultepec Park is to Mexico City what Central Park is to New York City very beautiful the Palace of Chapultepec, the presidents home or White House of Mexico, is on grasshopper Hill in the park. A wonderful view of the Valley and Volcanoes can bee seen from the Palace on a clear day. We have spent one full day to the North visiting the Pyramids, convents, and monasteries and churches etc. One day to the East visiting historic places, one pyramid on top of which now
