A course designed to enhance the student's understanding and appreciation of one of the primary cultural forces of our day, the motion picture. Standards of evaluation are established through classroom discussion and through viewing a selected number of motion pictures. No prerequisite. Two quarter hours. Autumn. White 28. Speech Arts Appreciation (The Legitimate Theatre). A course designed to increase the student's appreciation of the oldest cultural mediums, the legitimate theatre. Students will develop an understanding of the theatre through classroom discussion and attendance at several acted plays in Ogden City and nearby communities. No prerequisite. Two quarter hours. Winter. White 29. Speech Arts Appreciation (The Radio and Public Lecture). A course designed to make the student aware of the standards of good broadcasting, of the propagandistic devices used in radio advertising, and also of means by which his appreciation of public lectures can be increased.
