Show 42 WEBER COLLEGE AGRICULTURE Agriculture 1. Cereal Crops. The history cultivation, production, and marketing of cereal crops; a basis for judging and grading plant products. Must be preceded or accompanied by Botany or Chemistry. Three lectures and one laboratory period per week. Four quarter hours. Agriculture 2. Plant Breeding. Varieties of field crops; their selection and improvement; attention to the methods of plant breeding as practiced in America and Europe. Pre-requisites Zoology 3 and Botany. Three lectures and one laboratory period per week. Four quarter hours. Agriculture 3. Animal Husbandry. Market and Breed Types of Livestock. The practical selection and judging of commercial and breed types of horses, cattle, sheep and hogs. Three quarter hours. Equipment The equipment in this department consists of simple and compound microscopes, microtome, sterilizers, glassware, stains, chemicals, slides, dissecting microscopes, microprojector, photomicrographic equipment, herbarium, prepared slides, preserved animal specimens, and all other standard equipment necessary for the pursuit of high grade laboratory work.
