Show 100 WEBER COLLEGE and in their tours of California and other places. Prerequisite: Vocal examination. Two quarter hours. Music 21. Weber College Choral Union. Composed of men. The purpose of this organization is to develop in the student an appreciation for ensemble singing and a mastery of the same. This organization will not only tour the state once each year, but will also make one tour to the coast. Prerequisite: Voice examination. Two quarter hours. Music 22. Vocal Combinations. Trios, quartettes, sextettes, etc. Students may take this course by permission of the teacher only, and shall be required to sing at school functions. One quarter hour. In conjunction with Music 20, 21, 22 a Musical Comedy and an Opera will be developed. Music 30. Band. Provides study and training in band instrumentation. Students are required to play at all public appearances of the band. One quarter hour. Music 31. Orchestra. Provides training and experience in a wide range of orchestral work. Students are required to play at all public appearances of the orchestra. Two quarter hours. Music 32. String Chamber Music. This consists of trios, quartettes, etc. Students may take this course by permission of the teacher only, and shall be required to play at school functions. One quarter hour. Music 33. Brass and Woodwind Combinations. This consists of trios, quartettes, sextettes, etc. Students may take this course by permission of the teacher only. They shall be required to play at school functions. One quarter hour. Private Instruction Courses The following subjects are given in private lessons only. Special fees are charged for private instruction: Music 40. Piano. A minimum of six hours practice a week for one lesson, and twelve hours for two les- WEBER COLLEGE 101 sons a week. One hour credit for one lesson a week and two hours credit for two lessons a week. Time to be arranged. Music 41. Violin, Cello. A minimum of eight hours practice a week for one lesson. One hour credit. Fifteen hours practice for two lessons a week. Two hours credit. Time to be arranged. Music 42. Brass Instruments. A minimum of six hours practice a week for one lesson. One hour credit. Twelve hours practice for two lessons a week. Two hours credit. Time to be arranged. Music 43. Pipe Organ. A minimum of six hours practice a week for one lesson. One hour credit. Twelve hours practice for two lessons a week. Two hours credit. Time to be arranged. Music 44. Vocal Lessons. Time to be arranged. A definite group of song material must be learned by memory each quarter. One hour credit. |
