Breakage Deposits Breakage deposits are required in the following laboratory courses and in the amounts indicated: Bacteriology: ($3.00 a quarter, a year) $3.00 Chemistry: ($3.00 a quarter, a year) 9.00 Physics 21: (Photography) 3.00 All Shop Classes 3.00 Refunds will be made on unused portions of breakage deposit fees. The signature of the laboratory instructor is required to secure any breakage deposit fee refunds. No refunds will be made after June 30 of the school year in which the fees are paid. Miscellaneous Deposits Deposits are required on the following items: Towel tag deposits $1.00 Key deposits (each key) 1.00 Towel tag and key deposits will be refunded at the end of the year or upon withdrawal of the student. No refund will be made after June 30 of the school year in which the fees are paid. Refunds Tuition and Student Activity fees will be refunded according to the schedule provided below to any student in residence who, upon proper application to the Registrar's Office, withdraws from school before the end of the quarter. At the time fees are paid, all students are given official receipts from the Treasurer's Office. These receipts must be presented before refunds will be allowed. No refunds will be granted to students who are requested to withdraw from the College for cause of scholarship or any other cause. The amounts refundable to the student who officially withdraws from the College are as follows: Weeks in Attendance Amount Refundable Two Weeks or Less 100 per cent of Tuition Third Week 80 per cent of Tuition Fourth Week 60 per cent of Tuition Fifth Week 40 per cent of Tuition Sixth Week 20 per cent of Tuition over Six Weeks No Refunds Allowed Student Activity, Registration, Non-Resident Registration, Concert and Lecture, Health and Service, and Evening School fees are not subject to refund. NO REFUNDS WILL BE MADE AFTER THE SIXTH WEEK OF ANY QUARTER. GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS Weber College grants the title of Associate of Arts, the title of Associate of Science, a Certificate of Completion, and a Certificate of Proficiency. REQUIREMENTS FOR ASSOCIATE OF ARTS OR ASSOCIATE OF SCIENCE A student must complete at least ninety quarter hours of approved college work, exclusive of physical education, for the title of Associate of Arts or Associate of Science. Specific Course Requirements 90 quarter hours, exclusive of physical education activities. Basic Communications (English 1, 2, 3). Orientation 1 or 11, or Engineering 40 and 41. Health Education 1 or 2. Physical Education selected activities for three quarters. Four quarter hours of laboratory work to be completed in the Life Sciences, in the Physical Sciences, or in both. Area Requirements A student may make a choice between either of two plans. The first plan calls for 9 quarter hours credit in general education courses of each of four groups, and the second plan calls for 12 quarter hours credit in more specialized courses of each of four groups. A student with special problems and a student who needs specific courses for his major field may satisfy the general education requirements as an alternate to Plan 1 and 2 by substituting courses which are approved by the Division Chairman and the Graduation Committee. HUMANITIES 9 hours in Humanities 1, 2, and 3, or 12 hours from at least two different subject fields of the following: Art 3, 11; English 21, 22, 23, 27, 31, 39, 40, 41, 42, 44, 45, 47; German 12; French 12, Spanish 12; Speech 27, 28, 29; Philosophy 1 or 15, 16; Music 7, 8, 9. LIFE SCIENCES 9 hours in Life Science 1 and 2, or 12 hours from at least two different departments of the following: Bacteriology 1, la; Biology 6; Botany 1 or 2, 5, 6, 7; Life Science 1; Physiology 1; Zoology 1 or 4, 7. (If Life Science 1 is elected in the 12 hours, it should be completed prior to taking other courses). MATHEMATICS AND PHYSICAL SCIENCES 9 hours in Physical Science 1 and 2, or 12 hours including either a course in Physics or Chemistry and a course in Geology or Geography. The courses shall be chosen from Chemistry 1; Geography 1, 2, 3; Geology 1 or 11, 3, 5, 6; Physics 3, 10, 14, 21; Physical Science 11. SOCIAL SCIENCES 9 hours in Social Science 1 and 2, or 12 hours from at least two different subject fields of the following.
