Mechanics Applied. A course in the fundamental principles of materials. Equilibrium of forces, simple machines, bridge and roof trusses, centroids, moment of inertia. A course in bar stress for fixed and moving loads and design of beam and truss members. Prerequisite: Mathematics 3. Two lectures and two laboratory periods a week. Four quarter hours. Winter.
