Show 60 Typewriting •41. Elementary. Learning to typewrite. Development of sustained typing power, control of figures and symbols, improvement of techniques. A speed of at least 25 words a minute should be attained. Three quarter hours. Autumn, Winter, Spring. (Evening school, two quarter hours.) Staff 42. Elementary (continued). Thorough review of keyboard and number and symbol keys. The business letter, tabulated reports, improvement of basic skills, and intensive speed building. A speed of at least 35 words a minute should be attained. Three quarter hours. Autumn, Winter, Spring. (Evening school, two quarter hours.) M. Hurst 48. Intermediate. Manuscripts, special problems in letter arrangement and business forms, spirit process and mimeograph duplicating. Review of keyboard, and intermediate speedbuilding. A speed of at least 45 words a minute should be attained. Three quarter hours. Autumn, Winter, Spring. (Evening school, two quarter hours.) M. Hurst 44. Speedbuilding and Office Projects. Special communication forms, statistical reports, legal documents and business letters, advanced speedbuilding, further training in spirit process and mimeograph duplicating. A speed of at least 60 words a minute should be attained. Three quarter hours. Autumn, Winter, Spring. (Evening school, two quarter hours.) M. Hurst 45. Advanced Speedbuilding. Development of sustained typing power and techniques. A speed of at least 70 words a minute should be attained. Three quarter hours. Spring. (Evening school, two quarter hours.) M. Hurst 46. Advanced Speedbuilding. A continuation of Secretarial Training 45. A speed of at least 75 words a minute should be attained. Three quarter hours. Spring. (Evening school, two quarter hours.) M. Hurst •Credit will not be given to students who have had one year previous training. A student desiring to review the typewriter keyboard and techniques should enroll in Secretarial Training 42. General Secretarial Courses 26. Office Procedures. Training in office techniques, organization routine, business grooming, and human relations. Practice in business etiquette, filing, handling mail, use of the telephone, operation of voice-writing and duplicating machines. Students should have attained a speed of 40-45 words per minute in typing, and should have Business English and Calculator courses previously or during same quarter. Shorthand recommended but not required. Five quarter hours. Winter and Spring. M.
