Show Obituary IDA MOORE, daughter of Mary McNair and Freddie Rowells (deceased), was born on November 12, 1930. She departed this life on May 20, 1985 after a long illness. She received her education at E.E. Smith High School Fayetteville, North Carolina and her Bachelor of Science Degree in Data Processing at Weber State College, Ogden Utah. She helped to organize True Vine Baptist Church in Clearfield, Utah. She also worked with the N.A.A.C.P. in Utah. After moving back home in Baltimore, she reinstated her membership at First Abyssinia Baptist Church. She loved to sing and joined the Heavenly Spiritual Singers. Her favorite hymns were, ‘‘May the Work I’ve Done Speak For Me’’, ‘Jordan River’’, ‘I Will Trust In the Lord’’ and ‘‘Coming Up Lord, Coming Up Soon ™. She leaves to mourn: a beloved husband, Robert G. Moore, Jr.: mother, Mary McNair; one son, Jerry Ellis; two granchildren, Schwanna and Jerry Ellis, Jr.; two brothers James and Leo McNair; three sisters, Ann McNair, Emma Mathews, Ruby Lewis; one mother-inlaw, Pearl Bessick, two fathers-in-law, Robert Greenway and Alpheus Bessick, aunts, uncles and a host of relatives and friends. Ida kept the faith. She would often say, ‘‘I’ve got one more river to cross. That is the Jordan River.” God saw the road was getting rough The hills were hard to climb He gently closed her eyes and whispered ‘‘Peace Be Thine”’ Sleep on Ida, take thy rest We love you But God loves you best Humbly Submitted The Family |
