Show Obituaries Marcellus Giles OGDEN — Marcellus Lonnie Giles, age 69, died Monday, June 5, 1989, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Salt Lake City. | He was born June 4, 1920, um, Texas, 2 | son of George and Caroline in a Giles. He married Bessie § M. Chase Feb. 7, 1948, in San Antonio, Texas. | Mr. Giles was reared and edu- cated in Yoak- 2 um, Texas. He* = % noes ata oon ee eee received his f bachelor of sci- Pia ence degree in Pee Ok agriculture from Prairie View A g M University, Hempstead, Texas. He taught 16 years at Asberry High School in Yoakum, Texas, before working for Thiokol in San Antonio, | _ where he taught veterans how to use farm machinery. He was later transferred to the Clearfield Job Corp Center in 1969 which was then under Thiokol. He retired from Clearfield Job Corp in 1985. He served with the U.S. Army during World War il. He was a member of New Zion Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife of Ogden, three brothers, Leslie E. Giles, Bloomington, Texas;. Russell L. Giles, Austin, Texas; Carnell Giles, Yoakum, Texas, and a host of relatives and friends. Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Myers Mortuary Chapel, 845 Washington Bivd., with the Rev. Isaac Brantley officiating. Friends may call at the mortuary Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment, Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas. | |
