Born October 29, 1968 in Clearfield at Hill Air Force Base the son of Ada Lee (Long) Gillis and Willie Lee Ervin. Wes attended Ben Lomond High where he excelled in academics as well as sports. The scot’s played for two state championships and won the basketball title in 1987 which was the first in school history. He went on to school at Georgetown University, then later attended school at Stevens Henager College where he met Patrice Bendixsen. Wes and Patrice married on March 25, 1995 in Ogden, Utah. Together they had 6 children, Royle (Chrishell) Hubbart, Natasha (Tyler) Davis, Marissa Ervin, Karlie Ervin, Jaymen Ervin, and Lauryn Ervin.
