Show By iy WIGHT _ Ben Lomond’s winless Scotties ‘dropped another one last night, losing a slow, foul-sprinkled con- test on their home court to North Cache by a 61-35 score. The Scotties, with their attack kept well in hand by the Bulldog} defense, scored only nine field goals. They made 17 of 27 tries from the foul line, while the Bulldogs made good 21 of their) 382 free tries. The loss left Ben Lomond firmly rooted in the Region Two cellar, and North Cache still among the top three in Region One. Theme for the evening was set early, as three Bulldog players made visits to the foul line before a field goal was scored. Ned ; Gyllenskog, who finally emerged| as the top scorer of the game with 11 points, made one out of one his first time up, then missed two out of two shortly after. Cecil Archibald missed a free’ try, then Norr Hendricks swished one through from close range. Dick Taylor of Ben Lomond next had two visits to the charity line, scoring one out of one on each trip, It was 4-2 for North Cache half way through the quarter and Ben Lomond went another two minutes before Taylor sank a one-hander for the Scotties first field goal of the game. North Cache took its 11-4 lead at the end of the first quarter and quickly added two foul pitches by Charley Wood and baskets by Gyllenskog, Ted Hill, and Archibald to step up the scoring pace. Larry LaRoque put through a long one-hander for the Scotties. Then the numerous foul line visits resumed and the visitors fastened their sticky defense on the Lomondites. The wearers of the plaid scored only two more field goals during the quarter, a jump shot by Kim Buttars and a side shot by Blaine Peterson. The score read 31-11 for North Cache at the half, Both teams went nearly two minutes as the third quarter opened before scoring. Dick Taylor finally scored one of one for Ben Lomond from the foul stripe, ' but Larry Round came right back with a close-in jump shot and a foul pitch and Hill another one from short range for the North Cachians.
