Joining the front line and leading 3: MATMEN WIN EIGHT STRAIGHT Ben Lomond's wrestlers could easily be the best in the state: Under coaches Dawson and Hislop, the Scots have tromped over everybody in winning eight straight matches. So far, Cliff Bennett has won every match he has wrestled in, Art Suekawa, Jim Slater, and Roger Anderson are right behind him with one tie apiece, Jerry Staley lost just one match, against Davis High, and Kent Butters and Craig Parker have also done fine jobs. In their last outing, the Scots surprised defending State champs Bear River 34-10. Now, the major hurdle should come next week when Ben Lomond takes on undefeated Skyview here. The Scots have seven state wrestlers back from last year, so this match should be a great one. GYMNASTICS COMES TO Elder's break are hustling guard Elder's--small, but fast and determined The Scots, however, haven't yet jelle into a team, and their performance agai Skyview last week showed it. One bright spot in the defeat, thoug was the performance of senior center Le Cassity. Lee poured 25 points throught net, most on muscel shots from close un the basket. Substitutes like Gene Woods and Doug ‘Kump really took over tt action in leading the Ben Lomond attack, and they could do it again. Wrong again, The answer is gymnastics, To spark interest in this fast-growing sport, coach Don Dinsdale has organized a gymnastics class here at Ben Lomond, The class, which consists of juniors and seniors, is open to all interested Scots, both boys and girls, The only prerequisites are interest and a willingness to put in the time and effort required to gain the necessary gymnastic skills. The class provides instruction on the horizontal bars, parallel bars, sidehorse, and rings, along with free exercise com petition. The aim of the class is to train gymnasts in the basic fundamentals preparatory to colhege competition. Many of those in the class are developing into first class gymnasts. So far, the best of the boys are Dick Coleman, Rav Ferris, and Bryant Ford.
