Four of the five (teams of the circuit will get into action. Ogden High, directed by Dixon Kapple, will get a chance to jump into first place in the league standing with a victory over Bear River, inas¬much as Davis will be idle. The Tigers flashed a brilliant brand of ball against Box Elder last Friday night and now stand out as one of the premier teams of the division. They must must not take their contest here Friday night with Bear River lightly, however, as the Bears have a capable aggregation of court players. This game will be played in the Ogden High gymnasium, Coach Dixon Kapple announces. The starting time is down for 7:30 p. m. sharp. Ogden recently bowed before the Weber five, 27 to 26, in a stubborn game, after the Tigers had won over Bear River on the Bear court. Bear River in turn handed the Weberites an artistic trimming. Leo Walker, Bear River coach, was in attendance at the Ogden- Box Elder game and is prepared to spring some new plays on the Tig¬ers. TN THIRD PLACE The Bears rest in third place in the division standing. Cropley and Harris are the outstanding per¬formers on the Bear River aggrega¬tion. The all-around team play of the Walker machine has been one of the big features this season. Coach Kapple expects to start Harbertson and Greaves at for¬wards, Hales at center and Stone and Chambers at guards in this battle. Read may get another chance to break into the lineup. Dick Thorne's Weber High five, with a single court victory record¬ed for the 19 29 season in the di¬vision race, invade Box Elder for) their initial game of the second' half of the season. The Warriors triumphed over Ogden recently in a marvelous game in which they rallied in the final minutes ot play to pull the game out of the first. They are tied with Box Elder for the cellar position and are primed to battle the Earl Ferguson machine to the final ditch. Weber played heads up basket¬ball in the final stages of the Davis game last Friday night, but an ear¬ly lead obtained by Davis proved their undoing. CHANGES LISTED Coach Thorne expects to make a number of changes in his lineup be¬fore the game is played. He is not' altogether satisfied with the results of his court machine and hopes to present the strongest combination possible on the Brigham court. Box Elder won over Weber on the Weber court recently, 32 to 27, and will be a big favorite on her home floor. Fishburn and Steffen are expect¬ed to carry the attack for the Bees. Jack Croft's Davis machine, co- holders of first place with Ogden, will be idle this week, in so far as league competition is concerned. |
