REPORT Regular business meeting was called to order by the president. Pins were discussed, a new com¬mittee was appointed with Frank Deegan as chairman. We expect action and good reports from this committee. Four new members were elected to II. C. and are re¬quested to attend our next meet¬ing, they are Shirley Halverson, Doxey Stone, Art Manning and Rader Deegan. Our next party was discussed and we want to tell you, you can expect a big racket from us in the near future. —Delon Murray. PHI LAMBDA TAU At last, our greatest desire has been fulfilled. We have had something no one else has ever had, a party hunt. More fun than a picnic! Ferry fall down, go boom; gets all wet. Since the party, telephone books, compacts, bricks and ice have been missing. Hunters who took these, by accident or otherwise, please re¬turn them. By the time the party was over, we certainly had lived up to our last clew. That was, knee deep in shoe strings and head over heels in beans. By this, can you guess where we were? The game is scheduled for 7:30 o'clock sharp and is expected to attract a ca¬pacity crowd. Kapple will be forced to open the battle without his star guard, Stone, but despite this loss the "Orange Streaks' are favored to win. Stone is suffering with the mumps and may be lost to the squad for the rest of the season. He has been one of the outstanding performers for the Tigers this sea¬son. Kapple plans to send Greaves to the guard line as a running mate for Chambers and will use Har-bertson and Read at forwards. Hales will be at center. Bear River invades Box Elder tonight for the other league game. Both of these teams have a chance to get into the state classic at Salt Lake and a battle undoubtedly will be listed tonight on the Bee floor. Ogden High School R.O.T.C E. PLURIBUS UNUM O.H.S. The Kapplemen, with five victories and one defeat, can cinch the division flag with a triumph over the Davis quint. In a recent game played at Kaysville the Tigers won handily after leading 18 to 1 at the half. Coach Kapple witnessed the Davis-Box Elder extra period affair last Tuesday night at Kaysville and expects a close tussle with the Davis five Friday. Members of the Tiger crew are hard at work preparing for this game of games. They realize that a victory will insure them of a place in the cage series at Salt Lake early in March and will battle for that goal. Ogden has a game next week at Brigham City with the Bees. This will conclude the schedule for the Tigers. Kapple expects to start Stone and Chambers on the guard' line Friday with Hales at center and Harbertson and Greaves at for¬wards. Davis, Bear River and Box El¬der all have a chance to get into the state tourney. Bear River jumped into second place in the league standing last Tuesday with a 25 to 18 decision over Weber. The, Bears meet Box Elder at Brigham City in the other league game this week. There is a possibility that the three teams may be deadlocked for second place at tlie close of the regular series. This would neces¬sitate a play.-off series. |
