During that time she documented her personal life and the medical practice of Edward, the community of Ogden and national events such as the outbreaks of WWI and WWII. The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins. |

Show MONDAY, JAN. 16, 1893 Weather still very cold. I attended the lectures as usual. Prof. Brinton took the chair of Surgery this snowing and lectured on fractures I visited my patient and found them doing splendidly. About 8 pm I got a call from the Southern part of the city and found a woman in her seventh confinement A very rapid labor and everything O.K. and was back home by 11.30 p.m. and was not called out any more, so had a good sleep. A busy day. I received a letter from Mira this morning written from Salt Lake City telling me of her safe arrival there ect. TUESDAY, JAN. 17, 1893 Cold continues: attended lectures this morning Visited my patients and found me with considerable fever: the others O.K. Ate dinner at home and wrote a short letter to Mira. Attended lectures at college in the afternoon and passed my laboratory examination on Pathology This evening about 8 p.m. I received a call to the southeastern part of the city and found a young woman in first stage of her second confinement. I had a great time The were fairly well fixed and fairly clean not a common thing to find in this class of patients. I was detained all night and until 7.30 a.m. of Jan 18th |
