During that time she documented her personal life and the medical practice of Edward, the community of Ogden and national events such as the outbreaks of WWI and WWII. The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins. |

Show WEDNESDAY, JAN. 18, 1893 Not so cold to day. I was up with a severe labor case until 7.30 a.m. when a boy baby was born all O.K. A tedious case, but I got along splendidly. Got some breakfast and came to my room and retired very, very tired awoke at 11 a.m. and at once visited my patients finding all doing well. Returned home and attended lectures in the afternoon and am now wanting for a call. 7 p.m. Went to bed and in a short time was called down #1221 South 2nd St. Found things fairly neat and a comfortable place and a woman on hand to dress the baby. The seventh child. THURSDAY, JAN. 19, 1893 At two oclock this morning the baby was born. A large baby boy. The parents greatly pleased The woman got along well and I got back to my room by 4 a.m. and retired pretty well worn out When I awoke I found that one of my babies had died and I had to go and get a death certificate The first thing I then visited my patients and found them doing fairly well. Attended lectures in the afternoon and retired early pretty tired. Took a bath. |
