Show 113 I TBE 3534. Advanced Multimedia Applications (3) 5 Students will design and produce advanced multimedia projects applicable for business and industry. These projects will be produced by combining animation, audio, graphics, video, and text into interactive multimedia presentations. Prerequisites: TBE TE1700 and TBE 3533. TBE 3535. Creating Computer Illustrations (3) 5 In this course you will learn the fundamentals of a vector drawing program such as Adobe Illustrator. You will become skilled using the Pen Tool to create vector drawings and will learn various techniques for applying color, attributes, styles, and effects to your artwork. You will also create, edit, and format type to add to your artwork. At the end of the course you will create a project that integrates vector and bitmap images. Prerequisite: TBE 2533. TBE 3550. Supervising Information Technology (3) F Analyzing Information Technology (IT) systems and procedures including planning and implementation, departmental structure and operations, and the responsibilities and productivity of IT personnel. Prerequisite: TBE 2500 required. TBE 3600. Principles of Business/ Marketing Education (3) 5 This course includes professionalism, curriculum, standards, counseling, tech prep, competency-based testing, research, and current issues and trends in Business/Marketing Education. The course must be taken before student teaching. Along with advanced electronic presentations, this course will include a review of other technologies used in teaching. Prerequisite: TBE 1700; or TBE 1701/1501 and 1702/1502 and 1703/1503. TBE 3610. Methods of Teaching Business/ Marketing Education Subjects (3) F Analysis and research into methods of teaching business and marketing subjects with emphasis on teaching demonstrations and practices, objectives, outcome measurements, testing, and grading. Must be taken before student teaching. Prerequisite: TBE TE1700 or TBETA1701/1501 and TBI702/1502 and TCI703/1503. TBE 3710. Fiber Optics in Telecommunications (3) 5 Introduction to Fiber Optical Communications prepares tomorrow's information system professionals with fundamental concepts and skills needed to bring them to the forefront of the information transformation as it is characterized by broadband high-speed optical networks for Internets, WAN, and LAN. Prerequisites: TBE 2710 and TBE 2720. TBE 3720. Wireless Telephony (3) F An examination of the growing wireless telecommunications market and wireless applications for industry and commercial use. An analysis of competing technologies in relation to network design, equipment configurations, hardware technologies, and a study of emerging wireless technologies versus traditional wire-based services. Prerequisites: TBE 2710 and TBE 2720. TBE 3730. Telecommunications Policy (3) F Explores how the structural, competitive economic, and environmental forces affect the continuing transformation of the telecommunications industry both domestically and internationally. Discussion of the impact of contemporary issues on the provider and the consumer of telecommunication services including the taxation of electronic commerce. Prerequisite: TBE 2710 and TBE 2720. TBE 4700. Data Network Design (3) 5 Architecture, technologies, and standards associated with the design and management of modern data networks. Hands-on experience in configuring and troubleshooting various network components and architectures. Prerequisite: TBE 2710 and 2720. TBE SI4710. Traffic Technology & Voice Network Design (3) 5 Develop an understanding of network facilities and their uses. Understand and use correct network design principles in standalone and multi-PBX environments. Prerequisite: TBE 2710,2720, and MATH QL1050 or MATH QL1040. TBE 4760. Telecommunications Internship (1-4) 5m, F, 5 Must be completed senior year in a telecommunications environment with company placement and objectives approved by the department. Simultaneous enrollment in TBE 4790 is required. Prerequisite: TBE 4700 and 4710. TBE 4790. Telecommunications Senior Project (2) 5m, F, 5 Capstone project applying the principles of telecommunications to the development of a telecommunications system within a company. Simultaneous enrollment in TBE 4760 is required. Prerequisite: TBE 4700 and 4710. TBE 4800. Independent Research (1-4) 5m, F, 5 Directed research and study on an individual basis. Prerequisite: Permission of instructor. TBE 4860. Business/Multimedia Technologies Internship (3) F, 5 Student works in a business/multimedia technologies environment. The student fulfills at least four objectives and a major capstone project that has been approved by a business/organization supervisor and a faculty advisor. Must have Senior standing or approval of instructor. TBE 4920. Short Courses, Workshops, Institutes, and Special Programs (1-4) 5m, F, 5 Consult the semester class schedule for the current offering under this number. The specific title and credit authorized will appear on the student transcript. TBE 4990. Senior Project (3) Research, analysis, presentation, and discussion of topics relative to graduating majors and minors. Prerequisite: TBE 2860 or equivalent. MASTER LEVEL COURSES (TBE) TBE 6600. Principles of Business/ Marketing Education (3) 5 This graduate-level course includes professionalism, curriculum, standards, counseling, tech prep, competency-based testing, research, and current issues and trends in Business/Marketing Education. Along with advanced electronic presentations, this course will include a review of other technologies used in teaching. TBE 6600 may be substituted for TBE 3600 in the undergraduate Business Education Composite Teaching major, Business Education Teaching minor, or Business/Marketing Teaching minor for those working on a second bachelor's degree. Prerequisite: TBE 1700; or TBE 1701/1501, 1702/1502, and 1703/1503 and a bachelor's degree. TBE 6610. Methods of Teaching Business/ Marketing Education (3) F This graduate-level course includes an evaluation and application of the methods of teaching business and marketing subjects with emphasis on teaching demonstrations and practices, objectives, outcome measurements, testing, and grading. The students will write a unit-long Learning Activity Package (LAP) and will demonstrate teaching in a business/marketing course. TBE 6610 may be substituted for TBE 3610 in the undergraduate Business Education Composite Teaching major, Business Education Teaching minor, or Business/Marketing Teaching minor for those working on a second bachelor's degree. Prerequisite: TBE 1700; or TBE 1701/1501, 1702/1502, and 1703/1503; and a bachelor's degree.
