Show Walla Walla Wash WEDNESDAY, AUG. 30, 1893 I arrived here this morning at 9 a.m. Got off here expecting to see Dr. Thomas, a friend, He is out of town and I have been here all day looking around the town alone. This is a very pretty little town of about 8000 population. I can not get off until tomorrow morning and am stopping at a Hotel for the night. Have written two postal cards home to day. This is the greatest wheat country I ever saw. Spokane Falls Wash THURSDAY, AUG. 31, 1893 I saw Dr. Thomas for a short time this morning before leaving Walla Walla and had a pleasant chat with him. It has been awfully hot and dusty on the cars to day. We have passed through the grandest wheat fields to day that I ever saw. It is estimated that there will be raised in the State of Washington this year 15000000 bushels of wheat. I arrived here at 6.30 p.m. and am stopping at The Hotel Gillette This is a nice city of about 30000 population. |
