Show Royals Keep Rolling hipping Victory Clinches Tie For Division 2 Title By DALE 4 ’ BROWN ‘The Roy High School Royals clinched at least a tie for the Region One, Division Two title when they blanked the Ben Lomond Scots 13 to 0 Thursday afternoon at Ogden City Stadium. In posting their fifth win against a single loss, the Royals’ defense completely stymied the faltering Scots. The loss givés the Scots a 1-5 record for the season with two games left to play. With the defensive units putting on a display of jarring tackles in the first half neitho team could mount a sustained rive. SCORELESS TIE And the first half ended with nothing but goose eggs on the scoreboard. But Royal quarterback Stan Jones used the first half to advantage as he set up the Scots defense with draw plays. About four minutes into the second half, Roy recovered a Ben Lomond fumble on the Scots’ 49. Curt Hamilton, the workhorse of the Royals’ running attack, moved the hall to the 43. Jones then faked the draw, | | stepped back to the midfield stripe and fired a 43-yard bomb to John Zimmerman. And the Royals took a 6-0 lead with seven minutes left in the third quarter.
