Show 26 Student Health Center Telephone: 801-626-6459 Location: Student Services, Suite 190 Web Site: weber.edu/healthcenter The Student Health Center provides clinical medical care and assistance on a walk-in basis. Students and spouses with current Wildcard ID are eligible for services. Health Insurance is not required to use the Student Health Center. Office Visits • Assistance available at any general practitioners office is normally available at the SHC • Office visits, examinations, evaluations and minor care are funded by student fees • X-rays, medicines, lab work etc. incur minimal charges Commonly Used Services • Treatment for minor illness, minor surgery, minor suturing, etc. • Pharmacy • Laboratory testing • Contraceptive instruction, pregnancy testing, birth control prescriptions, pap smears • Follow up for ongoing medical problems (i.e., blood pressure checks, blood sugar levels) • Consultation regarding diet, cholesterol and weight reduction • Wart Treatment Clinic • X-Ray services provided for a nominal fee • Please call ext. 6459 to determine if a particular service is offered Services for Special Student Populations Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) Telephone: 801-626-6413 Location: Student Services, Suite 181 Web Site: A student who requests an accommodation because of a disability should be referred to SSD. Based upon documentation of the disability, SSD will authorize appropriate accommodations. SSD works closely with faculty and staff to insure that any given accommodations is appropriate and necessary for the situation. SSD advises students on issues related to disabilities and higher education and provides priority registration for qualified students. Consultation & Outreach • Organize orientation programs for new international students and faculty/staff • Present workshops and programs on international issues to stu dents, faculty and staff • Organize International Student Emphasis Week & International Student Banquet • Assist faculty and staff with questions related to international students • Assist visiting faculty from other countries and their academic departments with immigration-related questions.
