Hair Dressing. A course designed to give fundamentals of shampooing, finger waving, and all wet waving and curls. Five quarter hours. Autumn. Staff 52. Hair Dressing. (Advanced.) A continuation of Cosmetology 51, giving the advanced phase of hair dressing. The instruction includes scalp treatment, marcelling, and all curls given with the iron. Also hair bleaching and tinting. Five quarter hours. Winter. Staff 53. Permanent Waving. A course giving the fundamentals of hair waving and curling through the application of chemicals and heat, using machine and machineless methods. Five quarter hours. Spring. Staff 54. Manicuring, Facials and Make-Up. A course designed to give sixty or more hours instruction in the process of caring for the hands. Also, instruction in the technique of giving plain, electrical, blending oil packs, and other types of facials. In addition, time is spent in application of both street and evening make-up. Hair Styling. A study of the type of individual coiffure, taking into account such factors as head contour, profile, width of eyebrows, mose, and other features affecting the balance of the hair dress. A study of the mixing of sterilizing solutions, judging the values and probable effects of the solutons, hair dyes, and bleaching shampoos, rinses, and other preparations used by operators.
