Hair Dressing. A course designed to give fundamentals of shampooing, finger waving, and all wet waving and curls. Five quarter hours. Autumn. Staff 52. Hair Dressing. (Advanced.) A continuation of Cosmetology 51, giving the advanced phase of hair dressing. The instruction includes scalp treatment, marcelling, and all curls given with the iron. Also hair bleaching and tinting. Five quarter hours. Winter. Staff 53. Permanent Waving. A course giving the fundamentals of hair waving and curling through the application of chemicals and heat, using machine and machineless methods. Five quarter hours. Spring. Staff 54. Manicuring, Facials and Make-Up. A course designed to give sixty or more hours instruction in the process of caring for the hands. Also, instruction in the technique of giving plain, electrical, blending oil packs, and other types of facials. In addition, time is spent in application of both street and evening make-up. Five quarter hours. Autumn. Staff 55. Body Contouring and Moulding. A course designed to give the technique of body culture or recontouring. Five quarter hours. Winter. Staff 56. Hair Cutting. A course dealing with the cutting of hair, and treatment for hypertrichosis, using both permanent and temporary methods. Five quarter hours. Spring. Staff Trade Technical 61. Anatomy of Skin, Scalp and Hair. A course dealing with skin and cells, tissues and structure of skin; also the hair structure, shaft and roots. Five quarter hours. Autumn. Staff 62. Skin and Scalp Diseases. A study of the various skin diseases, involving the recognition and precautions necessary in practicing modern cosmetology. Five quarter hours. Winter. Staff 63. Hair Styling. A study of the type of individual coiffure, taking into account such factors as head contour, profile, width of eyebrows, mose, and other features affecting the balance of the hair dress. Five quarter hours. Spring. Staff 64. Chemistry of Cosmetics. A study of the mixing of sterilizing solutions, judging the values and probable effects of the solutons, hair dyes, and bleaching shampoos, rinses, and other preparations used by operators. Five quarter hours. Autumn. Staff 65. Physiology and Anatomy. A study of the skeletal, muscular, nervous, and circulatory systems of the human body. Five quarter hours. Winter. Staff 66. Coiffure Adaptation. A course dealing with the relation of the hair dress to facial, neck and shoulder contours.
