Show Teasdale arose and stated that Daniel Heiner had been called to be the stake president. After voting upon the motion by Elder Teasdale, Daniel Heiner was called on to speak. President Heiner "prayed that the Lord would strengthen him and unite the people." He "asked for the support of the Saints and accepted the position." Elder Teasdale then eulogized the labors of the past stake presidency. He admonished the people to pay their tithing and spoke of the necessity of laboring in the temple for those who lived in the world of spirits. Elder Reed Smoot then addressed the conference on the principles of obedience, humility, and patience. (Elder Matthias Cowley didn't attend the conference. The minutes do not explain why.)
