Show The Pioneer Post Volume III Issue 8/9 Marriott-Slaterville City Newsletter August/September 2001 1195 West 400 North, Marriott-Slaterville City, Utah 84404 Telephone 627-1919 Facsimile 627-1880 Mayor's Report As we begin a new fiscal budget year for our city, I am happy to report that we have again accomplished our goal of running the city without any city property tax, at all, and no franchise tax increase. Not only have we met all our expenses in the last year, we also purchased, with a matching state grant, a nature park on 1700 South. This park, is currently being improved, thanks to the tremendous volunteer help of Darrel Mecham, Steve Mecham, the Parks Committee and many others. Our park on the river will be a beautiful refuge from the bustle of daily life and a place to enjoy nature for generations to come. Along with the purchase of the new park, we were also able to reserve more funds for capital projects and roads. As these funds grow, we can be sure to have an effective community in the future. Council member Smout and Alan Brown, along with city staff, are in the process of getting the city website updated. I invite everyone with internet capabilities to access the webpage regularly to find information about the city, its activities, and the people involved in making the community work. The website is www.mscity.net. Also, you can email the city office at mscity@webpipe.net for questions or concerns. Sincerely, Mayor 2nd Annual Field of Dreams Softball Tournament In August was held the Parks and Recreation Department's 2nd Annual Softball Tournament.
