Show Community Resource Officer Holiday greetings. I am Raymond C. Day, Community resource Deputy for Marriott-Slaterville City. I have been a law enforcement officer since November 12, 1979. 1 worked several years as a city police officer before joining the Weber County Sheriffs Office on February 22, 1982. My parents are Robert and Rose Day of Ogden. I graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1968, and served our beloved nation as a soldier in the United States Air Force. I am married to Beverly Brady of Farr West, and we have 12 children and 5 grandchildren between us. My hobbies include hunting, fishing, camping, music, and most of all -visiting with people. Currently, I also teach the D.A.R.E. program at Farr West Elementary. To me, children are the most important resource on earth -I love to teach and learn from them. Our children need and want our time, love and talents. I am excited to serve Marriott-Slaterville as your resource officer. I feel that we can help create a great community that you can be proud to be part of. I hope to provide a safe environment for you and your family. Thank you for allowing me this opportunity to serve. Sincerely, Deputy Sheriff Community Resource Officer LOCAL UPDATES Monthly Volunteer Award. Shirley Nelson received the Mayor's Volunteer Service Award for the month of November 2001. Tools to help the community work. Interlocal Cooperation Agreements are tools that state law allows to, believe it or not, help governments work together. These agreements can be between two or more cities, cities and counties, or between the state or special service districts. Marriott-Slaterville utilizes interlocal agreements to provide municipal services like road repairs, road signs, planning and zoning, public safety services, and housing programs. These agreement are generally more cost effective and encourage cooperation between governments to prevent duplicating services. Using this tools saves tax money and facilitates cooperation. Snow Removal. Recent winter storms have blanketed our community with beautiful snow. Weber County roads manages the snow removal for the community, so contact them with your concerns. Also, remember to be courteous to the snow plow by not parking on the roads before or during a snow storm. This helps the plow clear the roads and will prevent your car from being plowed in along the side of the road. Watch the weather you know when not to park on the road. Christmas Party for Volunteers.
