Simple Dignified Ceremony to Dedicate Remembrance Place A simple, brief and dignified ceremony has been arranged for a dedication service at two p. m. Sunday in the place of remembrance in city cemetery. The shrine, built in honor of 71 World war II veterans, whose bodies were never recovered for burial, has been described as one of Utahs most distinguished. The ceremony will consist almost entirely of musical numbers by members of the Southern Pacific railroad chorus, under direction of Lester Hinchcliff, Dedicatory prayer will be offered by Capt. E. H. Cormack, chaplain, Hill air force base. Unveiling Slated The granite stone bearing the 71 names will be unveiled by Mrs. P.G. Boam and Mrs. H. B. Rockower, and a wreath will be placed at either side by Mrs. Henry Bair and Mrs. Clyde Patterson. Next of kin of the fallen heroes will be seated on chairs inside the triangular plot. They are requested not to bring flowers. Names on the stone will be read by Douglas Stringfellow, radio station announcer. The shrine will be returned to the city for perpetual care by Mrs. Joseph Aidrich, chairman of the Ogden Womens Patriotic council. It will be received in behalf of the city by Mayor Harman W. Peery. Special Bus Service Special bus service to the plot, northeast section of city cemetery, will run from Twenty fifth and Washington every 15 minutes, beginning at one fifteen p. m. The service will be resumed to return people to the downtown district after the service. Automobiles will not be allowed to park on Gold Star drive during the service. Police will direct cars to a parking lot northeast of the shrine. Sponsors of the shrine are members of the Ogden Womens Patriotic council and veterans organizations. Mrs. J. G. Falck has officiated as project chairman for the council, and Rink Smurthwaite as chairman of a fund raising campaign in behalf of veterans.
