New Fraternity Formed at U. Alpha Tau Omega, national social fraternity, will install a group of 35 University of Utah students as the first chapter of the organization to be formed in Utah. Ceremonies tentatively are scheduled for the latter part of May, according to Ronald D. Gregory, music instructor and advisor to the local fraternity, Rho Sigma Mu, returned veterans organization. The group petitioned for membership in the national fraternity early last fall and recently was informed by Larry Long, Denver, province 3 chief, their petition had been given priority over other groups in the nation. Originally the installation fete was to have been held in September. A date for the ceremony will be set after plans are completed for the group to come here for the affair. Shelter Will Boost Heavy Trusses Plans for the projected 8500 shelter immediately west of the Liberty park bandstand will call for steel trusswork, L.W. Meyers, assistant city engineer, said Saturday. The 50 by 90 ft. structure is planned for completion by June 20, he said. The Salt Lake old folks central committee will provide about 2000 of the shelters cost.
