Show Postal Domestic Domestic Postage rates of postage apply to all parts of the United States, which includes Hawaii and Alaska, and all its possessions: also to mail for Officers and crew of the vessels of war of the United States, and to other places where the United States mail services may be in operation. Military Mail—For governing mail postmaster. conditions to our armed and _ restrictions forces overseas, consult First Class Matter. Letters and written matter, also other matter if sealed against postal inspection, 8c per ounce or fraction thereof, except post and postal cards and Drop Letters for non-carrier offices, provided addressees are not served by rural or star route carriers, which under existing law remain at lc for each ounce or fraction thereof, Air Mail (limit 76 pounds): Five cents for each ounce or fraction thereof within the continental United States, within any Territory or possession of the United States, within any geographical area which is a protectorate of the United States, or between any of the foregoing. This includes air mail to or from Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands of the United States, Canton Island, Canal Zone, Guam, and any other place where the United States mail service is in operation. Note—The rate of 5c per ounce or fraction thereof will apply also to air mail sent to or by the armed forces of the United States overseas, served through the army and navy post offices. Mail for dispatch via airplane service will be accepted for Registration. Insurance, or C.O.D. by adding the additional fees for the particular service desired. See regulations governing the acceptance of air mail for matter other than letters in their usual form. Second Class Matter. (Unsealed) Newspapers and periodicals, which are ‘‘Entered as Second Class Matter.’’ See post office for publishers rates. When mailed by public, lc for each 2 ounces or fraction thereof, or the fourth class rate, whichever is. lower. Third Class Matter. (Limit 8 ounces.) Circulars and miscellaneous printed matter, also merchandise, 144 cents for each 2 ounces. Fourth Class (Parcef Post) Mail. Merchan- dise, farm products, books, printed matter, and all other mailable matter, weighing more than 8 ounces, not included in the first, second and third classes. Books weighing over 8 ounces take special rates. Consult your local postmaster. . The rate of postage on 4th class mail was, temporarily increased by 3 per centum, fractions of % cent or more being computed as 1 cent, but in no case shall the increase per parcel be less than 1 cent. In the following table the rates shown are under the old schedule. Add 3 per centum to these rates, but not less than 1c on any parcel. Add Ibs. A Parcel Post package may not exceed 100 inches in length and girth combined, The limit of weight is 70 Ibs., all zones. Parcels weighing less than 10 pounds but measuring over 84 inches but not more than 100 inches in length and girth combined, are subject to a minimum charge equal to the 10 pound rate. _Shecial Handling (4th Class). Parcels Parcel Post Zone Rates Information to be given special handling will be chargeable with the regular fourth class rates and 10 cents additional postage on each parcel weighing not more than 2 pounds. 15 cents on each parcel of more than 2 a but not more than 10 pounds, and 20 cents on each parcel weighing more than 10 pounds.
