PRESIDENT AND VICE PRESIDENTS William P. Miller, President of Weber State College, has a real understanding and love for Weber State College, her hopes, her dreams, and her problems. Having graduated from Weber in 1926 before receiving his Bachelor of Science and his Masters from Utah State University, and his Doctorate of Education from Stanford, President Miller has seen Weber through most of her phases. He is serving his 18th year as President this year, and under his leadership, the college developed from the junior college status to a four-year degree-giving college. He has seen the campus and the studentbody grow tremendously in size. He has seen new buildings sprout up all over campus, including this year the new Administration Building and the beginnings of the new Social Science Building. Through his years at Weber first as a student, and then as head and administrator, President Miller has come to understand Weber and know her needs so as to make him one of the greatest Presidents Weber has ever or will ever be pleased to have. The College Administrative organization includes three Vice Presidents who report directly to the president, tying all phases of college directly to them, such as Public Information, Alumni Relations, Development fund, and Athletics. The Administrative Vice President, Dr. R. A. Clarke, is in charge in the President's absence with those areas of non-teaching staff, Buildings and Grounds, Campus Planning, and Student Personnel reporting to him. Dr. Helmut P. Hofmann, the Academic Vice President, takes charge of all phases of instruction under the direction of the Academic Vice President, such as curriculum development, employment of faculty, Academic Standards, and Library. The Business Vice President, Dr. James R. Foulger, is in charge during the absence of his superiors and is responsible for the business operations of the college, such as accounting, purchasing, inventory control, payroll and custody of all funds.
