Show UTAH SYMPHONY The world-renowned Utah Symphony Orchestra opened their 1970-71 season at Weber State on October 8 with Van Cliburn, pianist (Bottom Right), as guest musician. All who attended any of the seven performances this year could feel the excitement emitted by Musical Director and Conductor Maurice Abravanel (Top Left) or Associate Director Ardean W. Watts, pictured with Abravanel (Top Right). Guest musicians this year included Grant Johanneson, Roberta Peters, and Richter Haasen. BALLET WEST The newly created Ballet West, Utah's first professional ballet troupe, gave three performances at Weber State this year beginning on October 29. In January they presented the Christmas classic "The Nutcracker Ballet" much to the delight of young and old. On April 8, they presented a convocation for Weber State students and that evening their Spring Fiesta. |
