Show PAUL THATCHER (Above), Utah lawyer and former county and city attorney, discussed the problems of maintaining peace and security in the community. His subject was "Peace Among Men: Its Nature and Structure." DICK GREGORY (Left), comedian, highlighted Black Emphasis Week February 4. He touched on subjects ranging from Agnew to cowboys. According to Gregory, the students of today rate as the "Injuns and Niggers" of yesterday. DR. STEFAN T. POSSONY (Left) spoke Jan. 14 on the topic of "The Developing International Situation." Born 1913 in Vienna, Austria, he was educated in Austria, Germany, Italy, France and the United States. HENRY EDLER (Right), a top-level Washington Consultant on aerospace affairs, spoke Oct. 15 on the topic of "What's Ahead in Space?" DR. J. E. SPENCER (Far Right), UCLA professor of Geography, spoke on "Southeast Asia." As a widely traveled man, Dr. Spencer brought the experience of his journeys into the lands of Thailand, Borneo, Ceylon and Indonesia to the January 28 convocation. JOHN BEECHER (Above), a direct descendant of abolitionists Henry Ward Beecher and Harriet Beecher Stowe, presented "Poet of Protest and Prophecy" April 21. MORIS J. SOLOMAN spoke on "The Crisis in Social Sciences." ALAN REITMAN (Flight), member of the American Civil Liberties Union and public affairs expert, spoke February 18 on "Civil Liberties." WARREN KLIEWER (BELOW), actor and playwright, appeared at Weber Monday, November 2. His subject was "Dissenters" - One-man show . . . dramatic moments in the lives of Beckett. Galileo, Luther, and John Brown. |
