Show SKIING During the recent winter months, the Wildcat ski team placed third in the Big Sky Conference meet and fourth in the NCAA Qualifying meet which were both held at Snow Basin above Ogden. Bob Shane of the Wildcat squad captured the Big Sky skimeister trophy by placing well in the four competitive events. Weber's Leonard West was second in the skimeister totals and both participated in the NCAA Championships. Shane also qualified by placing fifth in the NCAA cross country and third in Big Sky cross country. Mark Soderquist of the Wildcats qualified for the NCAA by placing second in the Big Sky and third in the NCAA slalom. Weber State's alpine ace Cal Ross could not compete in the Big Sky and NCAA meet because of injuries.
