Show WEBER vs. B.Y.U.J.V. CHARLIE JIM BILL DOC DUTCH 26 to 7, Weber moved into a tie with Westminster for the State championship and earned the privilege of meeting Westminster in a play- off contest. Four touchdowns and two extra points constituted Weber's scoring in its decisive victory over the Cedar City eleven. The jaunt to Cedar City was the longest of the year but seemed to have no effect upon the Wildcats' playing since they outclassed the Farmers in every department of play. WEBER VS. WESTMINSTER FOR STATE CHAMPIONSHIP Because Westminster had previously played in Ogden, the play-off game was played on the Parsons' field in Salt Lake City. At the start Westminster surprised Weber with an aerial attack that put the Wildcats on the defensive, where they remained for the greater part of the first half. At half time Westminster had a 6 to 0 advantage. Weber came back fighting in the third quarter and immediately following the kickoff worked the ball down the field. The Westminster line held for two plays, and then Weber completed a short pass to tie the score. The Parsons broke the tie, however, when a Westminster man broke through the Weber line, blocked a kick, and then fell on the ball over the goal line. The 12 to 6 lead won the game and gave Westminster the State cham- pionship. RED HAL Against Westminster BASKETBALL As in football, Weber finished second in the Utah division of the Utah-Idaho junior college conference. After a slow pre-season the Wildcats opened the regular season with three victories. Then they dropped the two following contests but won three more before coming to the first series with Snow, the turning point of the season. Weber was unable to record a single victory over the champions - to - be. Although all of the contests were close, the Snow team clearly displayed its superiority. Weber had a successful season. The team played well together and never gave up or admitted defeat until the final gun. B. A. C. AT WEBER The initial conference basketball series, played against B. A. C, resulted in two victories for the Wildcats. The first contest, which Weber won by a score of 44 to 36, was closely contested, the visitors threatening at all stages.
