Show Girls' Athletics WITH THE INTRODUCTION OF girls' indoor baseball this year an added interest has been given to girls' athletics. The game was taken up eagerly by the girls and they soon became quite proficient in the art of handling a bat and ball. Some class series were then arranged, the winning team to be pre- sented with a silver loving cup, which was purchased by the Girls' Association. Many exciting and close games were played and the Freshmen finally came out the winners, the Sophomores gaining sec- ond place. The cup was presented by the girls' athletic manager, Effie Kasius, and was accepted by Mable Bonham, captain of the Freshmen team. This merely marks the beginning of girls' athletics at Weber. Next year under the capable management of Mable Bonham it will continue to grow, and when our dreams of a "gym" are realized will receive its proper place at Weber. |
