Show One day Ira Terry's mother found her young hopeful holding his pet rabbit by the ears. From time to time he would give Bunny a violent shake and demand sharply: "Two plus two? Two plus two?" or "Three plus three? Three plus three?" "Why, Ira," asked his mother with deep concern, "What makes you treat your poor little Bunny that way?" "Well," replied Ira, greatly disappointed, "Teacher told us in school today that rabbits multiplied very fast, but this dummy can't even add!" Having made his payments in Liberty bonds, rent, coal, gas and groceries, the poor man was broke. But he needed winter clothes, so he compromised by digging through a chest and unearthing a heavy vest that belonged to a winter suit he had worn some years ago. He brushed the vest off and felt in the pockets. Eureka! A discovery! In the inside pocket of the vest was a roll of bills amounting to $123! And not one of them was receipted! "How cold your nose is!" These words came from Agnes, who was sitting in the parlor with Lemon. "Is Towser in the parlor again?" demanded Mrs. Stevens from the next room. There was a long pause. "No, mother, Towser isn't in the parlor." And then silence resumed its reign. Beany Barnes-Saw a fellow go around three corners on two wheels the other day. Joe Brewer-Get out. What sort of bus did he have? B. B.-A motorcycle. Here, help me lift Joe up!" "Mistah Bones, why am a joke like an egg?" "Ah doan' know, Mistah Tambo. Why am it?" "Well, Mistah Bones, it's got to be cracked befo' it can be absorbed, don' it?" "My brother has a leading part in the new drama." "What part?" "He leads a horse across the stage in the last act." Ricks-What do you know of the age of Elizabeth, Mr. Evans? Ariel (dreamily)-She'll be nineteen her next birthday.
