Show Phunisms At the beginning of the year we asked for some good jokes, orig- inal if possible. Among others we received this, which, with its broad scope of intellect, unlimited humor, and absolute originality. should go down in history as a monument to Weber's students. We feel that we honor it too little when we place it in the most distin- guished section of the Phunisms with a little article all by itself, and desire to announce that if the author will come forward and present his name he will receive a prize worthy enough to discourage any other such venture into the field of literature: Senior: "I can't study, honest." Freshman: "Then study dishonest." -A Freshman. If these laughlets you cannot digest, If they give you a pain in the chest, Just sit down and pause, With your head in your claws- And recall those you did not suggest. Lemon (writing home): "How do you spell 'financially'?" Bill: "F-i-n-a-n-c-i-a-l-l-y, and there are two 'r's' in embar- rassed." "Where's your dog?" "I shot him." "Was he mad?" "Well, he didn't seem any too pleased." He was an old darky. He wore no overcoat, and the icy wind twisted his threadbare clothes about his shriveled body. "Wind," he demanded whimsically, "whar was you this time las' July?" "I don't like your heart action," the doctor said, applying the stethoccope again. "You have had some trouble with angina pectoris." "You're partly right, doctor," said Victor Wotherspoon sheep- ishly, "only that ain't her name." Policeman-Where did the auto hit you? Lew Fretwell-What location do you want to know-geograph- ical or anatomical? |
