Show Calendar SEPTEMBER 13-Freshmen register. SEPTEMBER 16-17-18 Gradual registration of the rest of the school. SEPTEMBER 23-Two Seniors register. School in full swing for the other classes. SEPTEMBER 30-Challenges for class day. Baseball and Professor Ricks are predominant. OCTOBER 2-Personal talks from members of the faculty. OCTOBER 3 School attends Leland Brewer's funeral. OCTOBER 4-Holiday for conference. Strange how religious the students get about this time. OCTOBER 10 Influenza epidemic becomes so bad that all the schools close for a few days. Incidentally those few days become months. OCTOBER 12-Weber goes over the top in the fourth Liberty loan with $6,000. DECEMBER 30 Influenza over. School starts with large attendance. JANUARY 2 President Beal asks permission of Seniors to call upon them to pray in devotional. Seniors become nervous. JANUARY 3-Soldiers' day in honor of returned men. Front row of chairs vacant. Peter Kasius and Morgan McKay speak. JANUARY 6-Seniors breathe sigh of relief when Brother Savage prays. President Shurt- liff speaks to the student body. JANUARY 7 -Seniors become less worried. Front rows still vacant. JANUARY 8-John Croft elected yell master. JANUARY 9-Front row filled again. JANUARY 10-Senior called upon to pray for the first time. JANUARY 13-Front row vacant. Dr. Morrell admonishes care of the influenza. JANUARY 14-Cast of "Lost Paradise," the school play, formed. Class basketball: Seniors 13, Sophs 14. JANUARY 15.-Bishop Sanderson addresses student body. Basketball: Sophs 22, Fresh 2. JANUARY 16-Seniors 50, Fresh 2; Sophs 16, Juniors 14. JANUARY 17-145th arrives. Holiday. JANUARY 20-"The Lost Paradise" changed to "Mice and Men." JANUARY 21-Derrah Van Dyke speaks on "Employment for Returned Soldiers." JANUARY 22-Extemporaneous program makes a very lively change. JANUARY 24-Class day. Kangaroo court. Seniors win basketball game from Sophs. Juniors beat Freshmen. Girls' indoor baseball. Twenty-five yard dash-Beal vs. Ricks. JANUARY 27-Seniors attend the "roost" to see "Daddy Long Legs." JANUARY 28-Russell Petty speaks on "Government Ownership of Railroads." JANUARY 29-Honor day for soldiers of the 145th. JANUARY 30-John Emmett speaks on life of Roosevelt. JANUARY 31-Weber wipes off last year's shame by defeating Ogden High school again. FEBRUARY 1-Sophomore class party. FEBRUARY 3-Junior matinee dance to celebrate victory. |
