Show Admissions Scholarship Eligibility Students receiving scholarship awards must maintain the GPA requirement specific to the scholarship received and be enrolled full-time. (See Scholarships for the complete policy.) Student Activity Eligibility Minimum eligibility requirements for participation in student activities such as student government, campus organizations, clubs, special awards and intramural athletics include current enrollment as a matriculated student working toward a degree or certificate. Many programs have standards above this minimum. (See Student Activity Eligibility and Social Standards for the complete policy.) ADMISSIONS Director: L. In compliance with the intent of the Utah State Board of Regents and the Utah Legislature, the WSU Admission requirements are designed to provide educational opportunities to those students best prepared to benefit. Academic preparation is generally assessed by reference to cumulative grade point averages and college entrance examination scores. Students with reasonable grounds for exceptions to the admissions policies may appeal to the WSU Admissions Committee. Applicants of traditional age are required to submit evidence of the completion of a high school curriculum which meets course requirements established by the University - see Freshmen Student section. All prospective students must apply through the WSU Admissions Office and submit an application for admission and pay a non-refundable application fee by the appropriate deadline. The application deadlines for the 1994-95 academic year are as follows: Summer quarter Autumn quarter Winter quarter Spring quarter Summer quarter ('95-96) May 20, 1994 July 1, 1994 December 2, 1994 February 24, 1995 May 19, 1995 International students must apply no later than 90 days prior to the start of school each quarter. All applicants must submit official transcripts of credit from each school previously attended. Applicants who are currently enrolled at another college or university must submit an official copy of their transcript as evidence that they are in good academic standing and must submit an official copy of their final transcript as soon as it is available. Application forms are available at all Utah high schools or from the Admissions Office, Weber State University, Ogden, Utah, 84408-1015. Applications are reviewed when all required information is on file, and applicants are notified of their admission status as soon as possible. If admission is granted prior to high school graduation or while work is in progress at another college or university, the decision is contingent upon satisfactory completion of graduation requirements or the work in progress and will be revoked if the student fails to graduate or if the transfer work is not acceptable. Acceptance notices are valid only for the quarter indicated. Applicants who do not register during the quarter for which they were accepted and who wish to be considered for a subsequent quarter must notify the Admissions Office. Documents submitted by applicants who do not enroll will be discarded after a period of one year. High School & Junior College Services The Office of School Services is the liaison between prospective students and the University. Representatives of the University make scheduled visits to all high schools and junior colleges within the state and to selected schools in neighboring states. The purpose of these visits is to inform students and educators of the educational programs and opportunities available at the University and to provide them with information about application procedures and deadlines. Campus visits for interested students, counselors, and advisors are coordinated through the School Services Office. Departmental Admission Requirements Admission to the University does not ensure acceptance into a specific program, department, or college of the University. Some academic departments require additional information and separate application forms before considering students for admission. It is possible for students to be admitted to Weber State but denied admission to a particular department such as Nursing, Dental Hygiene, or Teacher Education. Applicants are responsible for supplying all supplementary materials required by those departments. Students should contact the department in which they are interested or the Academic Advisement Center for specific details. 12 General Informatio. Student Services Interdisc.
