A study of the geological formation, the areal distribution of the larger units, and the characteristic plant and animal fossils of each, with particular reference to North America and Europe. A study of the origin, composition, and classification of igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks, and their constituent minerals. Field trips and rock collection required.
