This course covers the entire field of auto body work: painting, body straightening, etc. Five three hour laboratory periods a week are required. Five hours terminal credit each quarter. Autumn, Winter, Spring. Shop Practice in Automotive Service and Repair. Students will do actual shop work in all phases of automotive repair, including engines, chassis, carburetors, starting, lighting, and motor tune-up. Five three hour laboratory periods a week are required. Five hours terminal credit each quarter. Autumn, Winter, Spring. Shop Practice in Carpentry and Cabinet Making. This course consists of actual construction in all phases of carpentry and cabinet making. Five three hour laboratory periods a week are required. Five hours terminal credit each quarter. Autumn, Winter, Spring. Shop Practice in Drafting. The course deals with general industrial drafting problems. Five three hour laboratory periods a week are required. Five hours terminal credit each quarter. Autumn, Winter, Spring. Shop Practice in Electricity. This course is designed to cover all types of wiring, repair and construction of transformers and storage batteries, and the installation and repair of telephone and radio equipment. Five three hour laboratory periods a week are required. Five hours terminal credit each quarter. Autumn, Winter, Spring. Shop Practice in Machine Shop. The course provides training in bench repair and floor work, drill press, engine lathe, grinding machine, heat treatment, milling machine, planer and shaper, and jigs and fixtures. Five three hour laboratory periods a week are required. Five hours terminal credit each quarter. Autumn, Winter, Spring. Shop Practice in Welding. This course offers acetylene, oxyacetylene, and electric arc welding on both the AC and DC types of electric machines. Five three hour laboratory periods a week are required. Five hours terminal credit each quarter. Autumn, Winter, Spring. Speech 2. Fundamental Speech Problems. Following consultation with the instructor, a program of speech activity for each student is determined. Three quarter hours. Spring. Trade Codes. This course familiarizes each student with the city, state, and national trade codes that govern the field in which he is specializing. It aims also to teach such important divisions of commercial law as contracts, agencies, and negotiable instruments. Four hours terminal credit. Autumn, Winter. Welding. This course deals with practices in welding operations for auto mechanics and machinists. One to two hours terminal credit. Winter. The Driver and His Automobile. This course is designed to provide drivers and prospective drivers with the knowledge of the mechanics and the operation of the automobile. The course is not planned for students registered in auto mechanics. Three hours terminal credit. Autumn, Winter, Spring. |
