Physical Geology. A course concerned with the work of the surface subterranean agencies which affect the earth's crust; the structural history of mountain ranges, and the development of ore deposits. Utah geology is emphasized, especially the erosion cycle and the phases of economic importance. Field trips required. Five quarter hours. Autumn, Winter. Buss 2. Physical Geology. A detailed discussion of the elementary features of structural and dynamic geology. Five trips and written reports are required. The course is designed for Engineering and Forestry students. A study of the geological formation, the areal distribution of the larger units, and the characteristic plant and animal fossils of each, with particular reference to North America and Europe.
