Show Our fourth child was Edward Farley Marriott born 23 September 1901 in Ogden. He died 05 July 1905. Our fifth child was Darius Farley Marriott who was born 09 July 1906 in Ogden. He died 22 December 1916. Our sixth child and our first daughter was Mary Madeleine Marriott who was born 23 October 190 9 in Ogden. Our seventh child was Ida Virginia Marriott who was born in Ogden 16 January 1912. We also raised two of our grandchildren, Richard Lindquist Marriott who was born 22 October 1915 in Ogden and who died 6 September 1943 while serving as a Missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. His sister, Shirley Marriott was born 4 October 1923 in Ogden. She married Harold Reid Murdock. Richard and Shirley were two of the three children of Horace Eugene Marriott and Myrtle Lindquist Marriott. Their third child, Arlene Marriott was born 24 June 1919 at Ogden. She also spent much of her childhood with us. In 1904, I was appointed supervisor of the religion class in 7th ward for two terms and was honorable released at the expiration of the last termit being impossible for me to continue any longer on account of illness. In 1906 I underwent a critical surgical operation at the LDS hospital in Salt Lake City for the removal of a large tumor. I was called to the office of a teacher in the Relief Society of the 7th Ward in which Society I have been a member for a number of years. I also served as a visiting teacher. I was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, Camp R, North Company. I served as chaplain and president. They were a wonderful group of women who I enjoyed associating with over the years. After most of my family was raised, my sister Ida Farley Ferrin, and I made regular trips to the Salt Lake Temple to do endownment work. This is a brief, but imperfect sketch of my life today. Much more could be written of interest in my life had I the opportunity and time and the convenience to concentrate my mind, undisturbed, to this very important subject of historical writing. I hope I may at some future time be able to do better when my home cares will not be so crowding upon me. Meanwhile, Adieu. Mary Agnes Farley Marriott |
