Show striven so to do. They all have been married in the temples of the Lord. This is but a very brief and incomplete sketch (mostly written from memory) of my life including a few incidents of our ancestors. Hoping this may prove a source of satisfaction to my descendants. Madeleine Malan Farley Madeleine Malan Farley was born September 25, 1839 at Prassuit, Italy. She died December 2, 1919 in Toppenish, Yakima, Washington. (Home of Ida M. Ferrin) Funeral services were held in the Seventh Ward chapel in Ogden, Utah on December 7, 1919 and were largely attend. Madeleine Farley Funeral Sunday Funeral services for Mrs. Madeleine Farley were held at 12 o'clock yesterday in the Seventh Ward meetinghouse. Bishop W. R. Jardine officiating. The chapel was crowded with relatives and friends of the deceased and a wealth of floral tributes to the memory of the departed were in evidence. "I know That My Redeemer Lives," sung by Mrs. Mary Farley, and Mrs. Melba Read Jones sang "Of My Father." C. P. Ferrin sang: "I Will Go Where You Want Me to Go" and "A Perfect Day" was sung by Dale Farr. Speakers at the services were Patriarch James Taylor, Bishop M. L. Jones, Judge George S. Barker and Bishop Budge. Interment was in Ogden City cemetery. E. A. Larkin dedicating the grave. Her children are: Ophelia Farley Shaw Julia Agusta Farley Miller Moore Simeon Alonzo Farley Lettice (Lettie) Celestia Farley Forsgreen Mary Agnes Farley Marriott Jennie Ritchie Farley Gibson Ida Madeleine Farley Ferrin Dina Pauline Farley (who died in infancy) Recollections of MADELEINE MALAN FARLEY Written by MADELEINE MARRIOTT HARROP (her granddaughter) My parents bought a building lot at 1208 Henniger Avenue, later renamed Porter Avenue, just north of a lot and home owned by my grandparents Isaac R. Farley and Madeleine Malan Farley at 1220 Porter Ave. Though I was born in my parents home and had daily contact with my grandparents my memory of them is rather sketchy due to my being very young. Grandmother died when I was 10 years old and grandfather passed away when I was 12. |
