Paris 5/29-19 (Cont’d) under the many bridges, some of them with quite a history the most famous one being the Pont du Alexander III. The ride ended at St Cloud a suburb of seven or Eight miles from Paris where there is a magnificent Cascade or waterfall. we had our pictures taken here and then returned for supper and are now making time prior to departure for the St. Lazare Station to go to Le Havre. Paris is a very pretty city and I hope to see more of it on my return, but its England I want to see now and I’ll soon be there. It sure will seem great to get into a place where I can talk to people and understand what they say. And I’m going to see Bonnie Scotland too before I come back. Hoot Mon! Le Havre France May 30th 1919 We traveled all night on the train, arriving at this city at 9:45 A.M. A Marine Sgt and another soldier from Guires Germany were in the Compartment with us. We slept most of the way having some fun with the lady brokeman on the train who it seems has a Marine Sgt. who has gone back to the States and of course is going to come back to her this fall (Like Hell) Found the Y.M.C.A. man at the station to direct us to their hotel, where we had dinner then a walk about town. Sems quite a pretty little place, lots of English speaking stores. We sail at 3:00 P.M. for Southampton. Hip Hooray!
