Edinburgh 6/1-19 (Cont’d) (Glasgow-6-2-19) Monday by a little manuevering on my part we ditched them. I’m afraid I’ll lose that pal of mine when we hit London again as theres lots of Wild ones there and he seems somewhat of a chicken chaser. I’m going to get a real sleep tonight in a real bed and be off on the Lake trip in the morning. We left Edinburgh the beautiful city, with regrets, this morning at 9:15 for Callander where the Stage live then the Trossachs meets the trains On our way up we passed by the old historic battlefield of Bannockburn. There is no “burn” there now and a peaceful field of wheat now waves where once the Battle axes and spears resounded to the glory of the Scots and the defeat of the Saxons. A Scotch soldier on the train pointed out the spot to me, Chuckling gleefully as he told me that “they’re still burying Englishmen out there yet.” To the north of the field where the battle was fought, on a high knoll where King Robert Bruce watched the approach of the English Army, stands
