Show London June 6th (Continued) June 7th are going down to see the famous Hyde Park tonight and Look at “Rotten Row” for though I’m dead tired I can’t waste time resting till I get back in Camp. Its move all the time for me. I dont think we’re going to meet those girls tomorrow for the Richmond trip. June 7th 1919 Had quite some time down at the Park last night and got lost coming home. This is the greatest place to get lost in I ever saw. If you go very far on one street you find you’re on another as they change names every block or two and run in all sorts of crazy directions. We came back from the park on Piccadilly and thought to swing over into the strand and on to the hut but soon found ourselves going in the wrong direction to hit the Strand at all A bobby soon set us right though. We went thru the Houses of Parliament this morning, this being the only day of the week they are open. Saw the House of Lords & the House of Commons, also passed the famous Cleopatra’s Needle In the Afternoon we visited the Kings Palace (Buckingham Palace) and the King’s Stables seeing all the fine horses and the gorgeous Coach set aside for the use of the King. Also went thru Westminster Cathedral a Catholic place of worship and went up in the high tower getting a grand view of the city. Then we went to the celebrated Westminster Abbey where are located the Tombs |
