Show London 5/31-19 (Cont’d) on that date. We leave for Edinburgh tonight at 11:45. Seem to be doing a lot of traveling by night but I didn’t come over here to rest and intend to keep on the move and see all I can in the time allowed me. Oh how good it seemed to land at Southampton and be able to read the signs on the stores and understand what was being said around us even if it did have a Cockney accent. Might also mention that the Red Cross met us here with a very nice bunch before we started for London. Lord what a whopper of a city this London is and so busy. I sure look forward to seeing it but must “awa’ to Bonnie Scotland first, the land o’ Robbie Burns. Edinburgh Scotland ^Sun June 1st 1919 We arrived here at 7:30 this morning. Were so used to the Y man that we looked for him here and were not disappointed for he took us to the St David’s Hut which is almost as good as the Eagle Hut. Here I find that my Lady of the Lake trip begins from here instead of Glasgow as I thought Ending at Loch Lomond where a train takes us to Glasgow. I think we’ll go tomorrow morning. Went down to see the great Firth of Forth bridge this morning and Edinburgh Castle this afternoon. This is a very old spot and contains many interesting relics among them being the old crown with which they used to crown Scottish |
